“I feel honored to join the amazing cast of Uzalo and I’m still in disbelief that I’ve actually joined such a big show. I don’t even know what to say at all,” says the overwhelmed Omega Mncube.
On Friday he tells MGOZI.co.za that he was informed by his brother Wiseman that the show will be hosting auditions and that he should go audition.
“After my audition, I prayed so hard that I get a callback and I eventually did. I auditioned mid-July and I started to shoot the month end of July. ,” says Omega Mncube.
Omega Mncube tells MGOSI.co.za that his brothers have taught him a lot about acting and he can’t always rely on them and the fact that Wiseman is on Uzalo.

Not revealing much, he says that he will be playing a very interesting character of Phelelani which will pose a threat to Sbonelo as he shakes his romantic world.
Omega Mncube was born and bred in Durban’s Newlands West. He has been involved in Theatre shows such as The Funeral, All Gone, Shintsha Guluva and his biggest performance was an isiZulu Usiza show.
“Now, my dream is to work alongside my other brother Ntando Mncube who is currently a lead actor on the new series Ifalakhe and also played Bonginkosi on the drama Abo Mzala,” he tells MGOSI.co.za.
He concludes by saying that his big brothers introduced and inspired him to be an actor back when they were still studying in DUT.
“When they rehearse their lines they would call me and use me as a prop until I fell in love with acting. Since then I didn’t see myself doing anything else besides acting,” says Omega Mncube.
