SABC2’s Lithapo lead actor [FORMER] Mangaliso Ngema has rubbished the serious allegations of sexual made against by a fellow actor, Lorraine Moropa!

Mangaliso Ngema said that this was a difficult time for him and his family.
“Dear friends and family. This is a difficult time for me and my family. Please know that I did not post this comment. My legal team is currently investigating who did this in my name. I will be releasing a statement soon to set the record straight about these false accusations,” wrote Mangaliso Ngema.

Mangaliso said that his accuser alleges that he touched himself inappropriately when looking at her and this was not the truth, claiming that she totally misread the situation and made a wrong assumption
“I have since reached out to her and apologized for inadvertently making her feel that way. I was silent in social media because I’d hope for a formal process to take place at work. I view these allegations very very seriously… I do realize how sensitive this whole thing is, especially as a father who is raising girl-children,” said Mangaliso Ngema.

Mangaliso said it was important to explain what happened so that you understand his side of the story.
“On Monday the 20th we were shooting a scene and I had problems with my costume – the pants were too tight and I was struggling… every time I had to get up it felt like they were gonna get torn.
“So, while I was sitting there and inspecting (cast and crew present) to see if they were not getting torn – when I looked up I saw her standing in some distance and looking at me,” explained Mangaliso Ngema.

Mangaliso Ngema said that Lorraine Moropa assumed that he was playing with himself which was not the case.
“I also hear that she mentioned that she had complained about me before and this was on an occasion we were shooting (I think) our first intimate scene together on the show and we were required to fall onto the bed during this passionate scene,” said the actor who also acknowledged that women are going through matters of Gender-Based-Violence.

Mangaliso Ngema said that she later complained that when the director shouted cut, he stayed in character and did not remove his hand from her hip and that didn’t make her feel good.
“Initially I thought it was out of malice but after we sat down with my agent and producers… (her side of the story) and I apologized. I thought let me just work on myself to be fine with her because I didn’t want to jeopardize the production,” said Mangaliso.
Mangaliso Ngema said that he is a trained masseuse and Lorraine Moropa is someone who often asks him to give her a back and shoulder massage, saying that it was very confusing for him.

“She likes asking me (massage) and I’m only saying this because even on the day of the accusations she later asked me to give her a massage,” said Mangaliso, asking his fans to think about how would it have looked if he was the one constantly asking her for a massage.
He said that he was expecting Quizzical Pictures to follow proper procedures when addressing the matter.

“… But before that could be done, she had gone on social media and posted about her unhappiness,” expressed Mangaliso whose contract was terminated by Quizzical Pictures last week.
Mangaliso has thanked everyone that has reached out to him (men and women) who came forward and said that they do not know him like that – someone who sexually harass women.
