On this day, 13 July 1969 Nelson Mandela’s eldest son Madiba Thembekile (Thembi) died in a car accident, and, sadly the Mandela family will now commemorate Zindzi Mandela on the same day!

According to various news reports, South Africa’s Ambassador to Denmark, former president Nelson Mandela and Winnie Mandela’s daughter, founder of Mandela Legacy, and published author of Black As I Am, Zindzi Mandela has died at the age of 59 at a Joburg Hospital.
“The 59-year-old passed away at a Johannesburg hospital in the early hours of Monday morning,” reports SABC News on Monday.
“Ambassador Mandela passed away in the early hours of today, 13 July 2020, in a Johannesburg hospital at the age of 59,” confirmed President Cyril Ramaphosa’s office.
