He claims Maru A Pula is his song that he recorded back in 2013 with friends.
“I met DJ Sbu through my friend Drum Pope of Abuyile Amakhosi. Around January DJ Sbu called me to ask me to come to Jozi to work with him on his upcoming project. He said I remind him of Mahlathini and I cannot die poor, he’ll make me a millionaire,” claims Papa The Voice.
Papa The Voice says as much as he’s been working with DJ Sbu and creating music he hasn’t signed any contract yet.

“I am going to release the same song (Maru A Pula). They want to exploit me because I am not into fame. I am called into this industry to change people’s lives,” says Papa The Voice.
Papa also claims that he couldn’t sleep because he was made to drink a lot of Mofaya which resulted in him being admitted to hospital.

“He (Sbu) gave me Mofaya and I could not sleep. I went to the Hospital. All I want is for him to compensate for my studio time which I charge R5000 per hour. He must pay what is due to me. I am not in the music industry for a plate of food. This is a God-given talent and if I can pray for DJ Sbu trust me nothing will go well and I don’t want to go that direction,” said a fuming Papa.
Papa The Voice told MGOSI.co.za that DJ Sbu pays everyone their studio time except for him.
