“You are going to have a sex change just to be with women? Now she’s lesbian. Why can’t you just be a man and be with a woman?” asked Sol Phenduka.
In responding to Sol Phenduka, MacG said: “I can’t keep up. I can’t keep up. What do you call that?”
“Old Mutual has seen the discussion that took place on MacG’s Podcast. As a responsible business that fully respects the rights of everyone, we have decided to terminate the relationship with MacG, with immediate effect,” reads a statement released by Old Mutual on Tuesday.

Old Mutual stated that they are distancing themselves from the harmful commentary against the LGBTQI community and humanity at large.
“To say the least, MacG’s commentary was both ignorant and insensitive, clearly showing that much education needs to happen, especially in a country where people continue to be ostracized, killed, abused, and raped for being who they are,” reads parts of the statement.
Old Mutual said that as a country, it is our duty to educate ourselves and hold each other accountable, to ensure that everyone’s rights are protected.

Apparently, Sol Phenduka and MacG also discussed celebrities who have allegedly dated transgender women. They were laughing mocking the logistics of being a trans-woman.
“So a trans woman, a woman with a d**k,” said Sol Phenduka.
MacG was also fired by youth station YFM under a cloud after making derogatory statements against gay people. He was first suspended and later fired by the station in 2010 after a complaint was registered with the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa (BCCSA).
