As viewers bid farewell to Masasa Mbangeni who portrayed the arch-villain Thembeka Shezi-Nyathi on Scandal, the show has praised Masasa as a formidable actress!

“Rest In Peace my darling beautiful Thembeka Shezi-Nyathi thank you for all you did for me ❤️” Masasa Lindiwe Mbangeni.
“You’re a formidable actress. Thank you so much for bringing Thembeka Shezi into life. No one could have done her like you did,” wrote Scandal.

“Friend she’s really gone. Dead dead! Won’t be coming back as a ghost ( they didn’t teach me how to act a ghost at Wits) let’s leave her be now. Let’s allow me an opportunity to play other amazing wonderful things or be a mom or be something other than her. It’s ok,” wrote Masasa Mbangeni.
The award-winning actress from Port Elizabeth has been all about “thanks” to Scandal and all its viewers, including those that supported her.
When viewers said she didn’t have to die, she responded by saying: “That’s what’s was pitched to me 6 months ago. There was no other way.”

Masasa Mbangeni also thanked Brighton Mngoma for being the best brother and fake TV lover/husband a girl could ask for.
“A special S/O to my beloved @iambrighton. You’re the best brother and fake tv lover/husband a girl could ask for. Thank you for being a safe space. I could always be me with you. And that’s why we could do what we do. I love you, Brother, #etvScandal,” wrote Masasa Mbangeni.
With all the messages of love from her supporters, Masasa Mbangeni said: “You guys are making me cry! My heart overflows with gratitude & love. You all gave me a chance to play with this girl! And I thank you for loving her as deeply as I did. Thank you for loving me! Thank you Zithandwa!”

When she was asked if she was done with the role, she said: “Ewe Baby. 10 years on and off is enough.”
Masasa Mbangeni was nominated twice for Best Actress in a TV Soap at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for her role on Scandal! (2014 and 2015), winning the award in 2015.
In 2016 she took an extended leave from the show to pursue other interests, including a starring role in the second season of the SABC2 thriller series Thola. – TVSA.
