Just a week after launching her debut album, IMALI, as a number #1 selling album on Apple Music on her launch day and as a pre-order; the music streaming giant is spotlighting Ami Faku for the whole month of October as their Apple Music New Artist Spotlight for this month.
Ami Faku thanked Apple Music for the phenomenal support since the release of her first single, Ndikhethe Wena.
It’s such an honour to be profiled as the Apple Music New Artist Spotlight for October to coincide with the release of my debut album, IMALI,” says Ami Faku.
The prestigious feature will see Eastern Cape’s South African musician with a notable voice get the prime placement of editorial support across Apple Music’s ecosystem as a “Hero artist” with inclusion on key charts and music playlists.
“Thank you Apple Music for selecting me as the New Artist Spotlight for October. No words can express how thankful I am. This is one of my highlights for 2019,” Ami Faku wrote on her Instagram page.
Her evergreen project has been widely and positively received with many taking to social media to share their favourite tracks with the musical gem including Mzansi’s world-renowned artist, Black Coffee.
Performing her full album tracklist for the first time at her sold-out album launch at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre in Port Elizabeth last week, the demand continues to grow for her and the Ami Faku Effect has taken full force across the nation.
IMALI album consists of 11 evergreen tracks that take the listener on a journey through authentic experiences of Ami Faku’s life over the past two years. A&R and Executive Produced by Raphael Benza of Vth Season and featuring six notable producers such as Eternal Africa, Sun-EL Musician, and Wilson Okafor, IMALI is a solid, timeless album that the country and global music fans will enjoy for years to come.
“We are extremely proud of Ami Faku. The greater part of the last 2 years has led to this moment of putting out an exceptional collection of songs. We have no doubt that IMALI will make a special impact global,” shares Ninel Musson, Director at Vth Season.
