astern Cape events organizer, DJ, and promoter is fuming after SABC1’s Uzalo actor Nkunzi, real name Masoja Msiza didn’t pitch at an event he was booked for an appearance in East London.
Zukisa Robiyane of Eslarheni claims that Nkuzi told him that he does not deal with amasimba (BS) and that he will see him in court if he pursues to bother him.
When MGOSI.co.za contacted Nkunzi on Tuesday he said he doesn’t deny knowing Zukisa Robiyane and that he is still waiting for a way forward from him.
“I sent Khathaza to go on my behalf because I was busy on that day,” said Nkunzi.
Nkuzi denied all allegations leveled against him saying that he won’t speak to Journalists. He also didn’t bother to say when he will pay back the money due to the events organizer.
MGOSI.co.za is in possession of a bank deposit receipt of the R18 000 that was paid to Mr. Josiah M Msiza with FNB Private Clients Cheque Account starting with 62 and ends with 79.
Zukisa told MGOSI.co.za that he saw Nkunzi on a poster advertising the Eastern Cape Awards and that is when he decided to approach him for his event.
“He canceled a week before the event on December 7 saying that he has a very big shoot with Uzalo so he can’t make it. I told him to refund us so that we can book other actors to come and cover-up his mess and that’s when he told me that akahlangani nalawo masimba and I am the one who must book those celebs to come to my event,” said Zukisa Robiyane.
MGOSI.co.za saw a screenshot of a WhatsApp text that was sent to Nkunzi by Zukisa and he was hit with blue ticks.
“…As we trying to do damage control by gathering actors that can replace you which is Khathaza and Fikile can you find time to deposit the money in our account by tomorrow morning? We need to make payments for those actors so we can reveal new posters and put it on the market as soon as possible just so we don’t run out of time,” reads the WhatsApp text.
We also saw a WhatsApp text from Nkunzi acknowledging payment and saying that he will attend the event he was billed for.
“Greeting(s). Money received with thanks. Confirming to attend event 30 minutes as per promise. And awaiting R2,000 balance,” reads the text.
“I am very disappointed in him because he seemed to be very professional when I spoke with him. Now, he thinks he can pull his television character on us. If he doesn’t pay my money I am going to take him to court. I’ve lost so much because people were standing outside waiting for him. They held their ticket money because they wanted to be sure if he was coming. A great number of people turned back when they didn’t see Nkunzi,” says the angry events organizer.
Zukisa said that he paid Fikile (Nelisa Mchunu) R15,000, including Khathaza (Sibonile Ngubane) the same amount which is also R15,000.
The Eslarheni resident DJ claims that Nkunzi does not take his call, including their business calls.
“He thought he is dealing with a small boy. I feel so bad because the event was not as successful as we anticipated it to be. I owe people money and if he can pay back I can cover some of my debts using that money. I’ve lost respect for him and I’ll never work with him again. Two weeks back I called him and he said he was entering the shoot and he will call me back. He never got back to me,” said Zukisa.
He said all he wants from Nkunzi is his R18,000 and does not want anything to with him after that.
