The day of his cooking session, on Saturday, Nompilo went on social media and shared pictures of herself and Somizi having a great time.

Mhlongo is however not the first South African celebrity to show Nompilo with love.
In September 2021, Dlamini reached out to rapper Cassper Nyovest. To help her raise R2 million for a lung transplant in India.
Following her tweet, Cassper pledged R150 000 and also pleaded with his fans to also donate under the hashtag #SaveNompilo.
A few months later, the young patient was on her way to India in the hope of getting a lung transplant. But unfortunately it did not happen. This is because the injection that she needed for the operation to take place had not been available in India.
Updating her followers, an emotional Nompilo said:
“I might be going back home next week because the needed injection is not available here in India, which is part of the immunosuppressants that I am supposed to take. But, it is available in South Africa. But, at the same time, I don’t think I still have that will to take any more medication or to take any more chances of giving me hope to get help and keep on the fight.”
