Simphiwe Dana is one of the local celebrities that were against the reopening of Schools and Churches as an “unconscionable” move, saying (in May) that COVID-19 is airborne.
“Reopening schools and churches in the middle of a highly contagious, fast-acting, and airborne virus. I don’t mind what adults do as no one is forcing them. But forcing parents to send their kids to a possible infection is unconscionable,” wrote Simphiwe Dana.
Simphiwe Dana ignored all the efforts by people correcting her that the virus was not airborne.

Instead, she responded to a comment that said president Cyril Ramaphosa said sending kids back to school is not compulsory for parents if they are worried about safety at the school.
“So what must happen to the kids who don’t attend classes? Do they forfeit a school year while other kids don’t,” questioned Simphiwe Dana.
A doctor from Health Travellers Worldwide (video shared by a tweep) said that COVID-19 is not airborne.
The Doctor said that the answer to whether COVID-19 was airborne or not was no.
