South African singer and songwriter Busiswa Gqulu is not impressed with the South African Music Awards (SAM26). This follows the nominee’s announcement that left Matorokisi hitmaker Makhadzi Muimbi with a bitter-sweet taste in her musical mouth!

Makhadzi Muimbi congratulated all the SAMA26 nominees, including expressing that she is so sad for not being recognized after what the hit Matorokisi did to Africans in 2019.
“Congratulations to all @TheSAMAs nominees..so said for not being recognized, after what Matorokisi did to AFRICANS last year…to all my fans I submitted everything is just that ndinga ndoneta tshinyama… Your love and support matters” wrote Makhadzi Muimbi.
Cassper Nyovest whisked in with some FREE 411: “Sorry Queen!!! Keep grinding!!! Forget awards!!! The people’s love is the greatest award an artist can have. When da people love you genuinely, you will have a long successful career whether you win awards or not. Some people clean up at the awards & fade away the very next year.”

Without mentioning the SAMA26, Cassper Nyovest said: “Hate to say it but I keep telling yall.”
After Makhadzi Muimbi expressed her dissatisfaction, @Makhadzi_Legion said (via comment section) “I did confirm with them on Instagram earlier this year that yes you submitted. They went to say you’re not eligible for #SAMA26 and you should wait for #SAMA27. I proved them wrong. Now they’re saying you didn’t submit. The SAMAs are such a scam. A tribalist organization.”
Busiswa Gqulu also fired heavy shorts saying that Haka Matorokisi, John Cena, and, Jerusalema are not up for the Record Of The Year? As shocked as many South Africans who were left breathing through the wound after SAMA26 gave them the middle finger, excusing the music that people went crazy about, radio stations blasted 24/7, owning the dance floors to South Africa’s popular and unpopular events, including public transport, topping it up with digital downloads, streams, TV and the likes.

“I know we do this every year but Haka Matorokisi, John Cena, and Jerusalema REALLY aren’t up for Record Of The Year? Yho ha.ah bophelo ke painting ya Rasta” expressed Busiswa.
Busiswa continued to say that these songs have the highest streaming numbers in the country.
“I’m talking millions of REAL streams and downloads. The fact that you pirate them doesn’t change that. It makes them even greater. Imagine their numbers if… nvm.?,” said Busiswa Gqulu.
“The South African Music Awards are a disgrace of NOTE! These SAMAs are no longer bearing the initial meaning, these are the Family First Music Awards – the credibility is a minor discharge, the SAMAs are only 0.1% to being rendered as very useless. What’s this? I honestly do not want to say much, of course as a former Judge for the SAMAs, in actual fact, there’s none much to say other than the fact that I’ve reserved my opinions vs. the outcome of heavily rooted anger from the nominees’ announcement. All I can say is this, artists do know the worth of their work. Don’t hurt the industry…

“As I’ve said the SAMA26 gave all of us a middle finger. They think they are the beginning and the end of the South African music industry, of which it’s not the case because they’ll never take away the love for music with awards. There SAMAs are there because of the craft and such should never be undermined and thrown to the dogs like this,” expressed Buchule Raba – Editor of MGOSI.co.za.
“Well-done to the SAMA26 “judges” and committee, you’ve really shown us the ability and IQ of your IGNORANCE when it comes to being 100% FAIR to these artists that work so hard in order for their legacy to be recognized by bodies such as the SAMAs.”
