On Friday congratulatory messages poured in for South African television personality Khanyi Mbau after she shared a picture of herself appearing to be pregnant. Locals thought that Khanyi Mbau and boyfriend Tebogo Lerole are expecting a child.
Speaking to MGOSI.co.za on Friday Khanyi Mbau says she’s not pregnant. She did not respond to our second text whether she was planning to have any kids or not.
Khanyi Mbau says that the social media picture is a scene from the movie Red Room.
She recently won her first acting award at the inaugural South African International Film Academy Awards for her role in the film, last Saturday.
“That’s a scene from Red Room that got me the award over the weekend. No babies here,” said Khanyi.
The photo Khanyi Mbau shared was of herself in what appeared to be a Doctor’s office, getting an ultrasound.
Khanyi Mbau took to Twitter to correct the assumption that she was expecting
“Spyros I AM NOT PREGNANT! I won Best Actress Award for that scene. Thank you. Got the love, but no babies,” she says.
Khanyi Mbau had captioned the picture with a caption that reads ‘fro every award there is performance’ and South Africa thought ‘for every performance, there’s a reward’.
Early in September she also fell victim to hacking when her Vodacom number was hacked.
Speaking to MGOSI.co.za in September, the SABC1’s Uzalo actress says that Vodacom needs to beef up its security systems.
“I have been hacked 4 times. Is the economy so bad that people have resorted to this?” she questions.
