The word is that if you didn’t attend Black Coffee’s Luncheon you’re not a celebrity! Coffee turned 44-years old and celebrated his milestone in style at a star-studded Luncheon at a mansion in Joburg on Sunday.

All the biggest who’s who of the South African entertainment scene were there including the likes of DJ Tira, Maps Maponyane, Cassper Nyovest, Ricky Rick as well as high profile politicians such as Julius Malema, Fikile Mbalula, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi and business people such as Basetsana Kumalo and husband Romeo were in attendance.

Damn! Our celebrities actually put in the effort and looked stunning. Boity, Dineo Moeketsi, Kefilwe Mabote, Sarah Langa, DJ Euphonik, Oskido and rapper Reason were also in attendance.

Africa’s interests at heart, recently Black Coffee Coffee had a chat with fellow DJ Christos ahead of the Dance Music Summit, to take place in March to talk about promoters in South Africa.
In his opening remarks, Black Coffee said that he doesn’t think people have a problem buying the equipment but putting things together.

“I don’t think people have a problem with buying the equipment. I just think people have a problem of putting things together, and out of the things I see we lack in as a country we do not have promoters. When you have a promoter, you have someone who’s passionate about the game, someone who curates a certain sound and who understands the needs of the DJs that he curates for,” shared Black Coffee.
In January Jay-Z’s Roc Nation also hosted their glamorous annual pre-Grammys brunch, star-studded, and highly anticipated as the award show itself.
With appearances from the likes Beyoncé and JAY-Z, and sure enough, the power couple attended the Los Angeles event two months ago looking spiffy in complementary suits.

Just like Black Coffee’s Luncheon, it seemed like the entire music industry was in attendance, including Rihanna, Megan The Stallion, Miguel, Dua Lipa, and Kelly Rowland to name a few.
