Taking to his official Instagram page in the early hours of Friday morning, Percy Tau said that he would like to thank the club’s players, the technical team, the entire staff, and supporters for his loan spell.

“I’d like to take this moment to say, thank you to the players, technical team, entire staff, and supporters for a successful loan spell. @clubbrugge I thank you ?,” wrote Percy Tau.

In 2019 News24 reported that the 26-years-old Percy Tau won the Proximus League Player of the Season award following his scintillating first season with Belgian second division side Union Saint-Gilloise.

The publication also reported that in his maiden season in Europe, the on-loan Brighton attacker made 34 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 13 assists.

Goal (in 2019) also reported that Tau only moved to Europe at the beginning of the season from Mamelodi Sundowns after forcing a move to Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
According to Goal, Percy Tau was immediately loaned out to Belgian second-tier team Royale Union Saint-Gilloise by his parent club after failing to acquire his work permit in the United Kingdom.

“While his move to Belgium was seen a step in the wrong direction for his promising career, Tau grabbed the opportunity with both hands, shining for his club throughout the 2018/19 season,” reported Goal.

The publication further reports that Percy Tau featured in 34 matches across all competitions for Union Saint-Gilloise and found the back of the net 11 times.
