World-renowned singer, Lira, has taken to her Instagram page to give us a health update six months after suffering a stroke.
The Feel Good hitmaker also shared that she had suffered from aphasia as a result of her stroke. Aphasia being a condition that affects speech and one’s ability to read and/or write.
She said that although the process has been challenging, she is happy and recovering well.
Lira’s recovery journey started a few months back. After her family shared that the singer had suffered a stroke, when she was in Germany for a performance.
The 43-year-old’s family said that the stroke had affected her ability to communicate and her speech. As a result, she took time off from her career to recover.
In August, Lira took to the socials that she was making good progress in her recovery and shared an important lesson for all her followers.
“One lesson I’ve learned is to slow down, smell the roses and savour each moment,” she wrote on her Instagram page.
Taking to Instagram on Friday, September 23, the songbird posted another health update to mark six months after her stroke.
In her post, the singer disclosed that she had struggled with aphasia as a result of her stroke. Which was alarming because one would have thought that it would affect her long time. But the musician has proven that her road to recovery is progressive and we are happy for her!
“I am feeling like myself yet I’m still on my recovery journey. It’s going to take some time – but it’s reversible! This process has been fascinating for me and although it’s challenging at times, I am happy,” she wrote.
“Just to be alive each day is a blessing. To be among friends and loved ones is a precious gift. Many of you have been rooting for me and your support has meant the world to me!”
