Kabelo Mabalane and Peteni Kuzwayo will be on the road for 17-days, averaging a speed of about 35-KMs per day to help raise funds towards ending child hunger.
“Sekunjalo! Usually, when I put out a shirt like this I know I’m coming back home when race day is done. This moment is like no other I’ve experienced and I trust I will live to tell the 600km tale. I’m going where my body and mind have never been,” said Kabelo Mabalane.
“I’m scared. Very scared. But then again, if I wasn’t, there would be no need for God to be a part of it. To every single one that has wished us well, thank you. We need all the support,” said Peteni Kuzwayo.
Peteni Kuzwayo said that 3 in 4 children in South Africa suffer from hunger and malnutrition.
“2 runners and 1 Corporate believe 748 000 steps could be part of the solution. You know the mission just got REAL when the keys are handed over. No turning back now – especially when the 3 support cars are built for the LONG RUN.
“Thank you Team @isuzusa for allowing us to just focus on chasing a min of R6 million @ a pace of 6.30 mins per km,” wrote Peteni Kuzwayo.
