Speaking to MGOSI.co.za, Sponchmakhekhe, real name Muntu Maseko said that Emoyeni is a song of hope hence the name.
“The music that I do is inspired by my surroundings and the day to day life that I live and the people around me. Emoyeni is not only a dance song, what we would love to achieve is to see people unite, especially in these times where people are going through a rough patch of losing jobs, cars, houses, and not being financially stable,” expressed Sponchmakhekhe.
When asked what inspired Emoyeni, Sponchmakhekhe said that the song was a birthday present from J Logic before they decided to make a collaboration.

Sponchmakhekhe also hinted that they were working on an EP and they will drop a music video soon.
In terms of what sets them apart from the crowd, Sponchmakhakhe said: “What sets us apart from other artists is the fact that we are not in competition but doing music for the people.”
Like any other artist, they both admitted that COVID-19 was a stumbling block due to the lack of gigs, which in turn affects their financial well-being.
“It’s very hard. We always pray that we get to the other side with more opportunities being tabled before us. For now, we cope by having to spend more time with our families and making more music,” they shared.
