“I gave him my details and told him that my insurance will fix his car. He asked if I knew who he was and the people that he knows and I didn’t respond to that. If he calls me a scammer, why would he have my personal details, including my car registration number? He calls me with threats asking if I know what he’ll do to me. I think it’s time that I approach the police about the whole issue now,” said Hlengiwe Mhlaba.
Hlengiwe Mhlaba said that she did consult with her legal team regarding the matter (accident) but they told her to wait.
“I didn’t tell them about the threats that I am receiving yet. I am aware that he took my personal details to social media and the first pictures he posted had my ID number all over. If he says I must fix his car, which side I must fix because he bumped me from the passager side of my car,” said Hlengiwe Mhlaba.
Hlengiwe Mhlaba also questioned the nature of the post, saying that why the victim didn’t identify himself by also putting his own pictures.
“Why is he hiding behind social media? He must come out. He must go to the police and open a case,” said a calm Hlengiwe Mhlaba.
Hlengiwe Mhlaba told MGOSI.co.za that she was cooperative during the entire incident, including allowing the “guy” to take pictures of her personal details and her VW
However, a source close to Hlengiwe Mhlaba tells MGOSI.co.za that the said “guy” is not a South African thus he refused for things to be done the correct way.
“He couldn’t even speak English when we were trying to address the matter. Instead, he was threatening Hlengi with who he knows,” said the source.
The source also claims that they can produce the “guy’s” identity because he’s not South Africa and he told them that he does not have his car insured.
MGOSI.co.za attempted to call the company (Events Update) that posted the information with no success. Their telephones rang to voicemail on Wednesday. The company’s offices are listed to be in Rosebank, Gauteng.
