What are the biggest rewards and challenges of working on a daily live show?
“It is the purest example of the saying ‘The show must go on’. A live show challenges you to be present at every moment as anything could happen. Simultaneously, this creates room for personal growth and the biggest reward is walking away having made someone feel good and special about himself or herself,” says Kuhle Adams.
What is the biggest lesson your journey on Presenter Search on 3 taught you in preparation for your stint on The Expresso Morning Show?
“Presenter Search on 3 has taught me the principle of perseverance. I was not chosen as part of the initial Top 10 contestants. Coming back into the competition from viewer votes gave me the drive I needed to keep on going because I know I do not do this just for myself, but the platform allows us to assist in changing lives or putting a smile on someone’s face. This is a value I still carry with me today,” shares Kuhle Adams.

In terms of what sets Expresso apart from other breakfast shows, Kuhle Adams had this to say: “Expresso has mastered the perfect merger between informative and entertaining. It covers a spectrum of topics that cater to everyone.
“We ensure that our guests are entertaining but have a message to share and we’re not afraid to touch on important topics. We also give viewers access to their favorite celebrities who share insight into their lives and work and this balance just works.”
What has been your favorite interview to date?
“My favorite interviews were with the then Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi, prior her journey to becoming Miss Universe and when she came home for the first time as Miss Universe. These interviews combined tell a story – a story of an all-rounded dream encapsulated into those conversations,” shares Kuhle Adams.

Who is your ideal person to interview?
Trevor Noah. His growth is surmountable and he represents the big dream for me.
Early mornings are never easy. What does your morning routine look like?
As a result of COVID-19, we have had to change our routines. I wake up at 04:00, shower and get dressed and finally do my makeup at home. I leave my place at 05:15. I only have breakfast at work around 08:00 during a live show.
What is life like for Kuhle once the Expresso cameras have stopped rolling?
It is very relaxed now in the time of COVID-19. Work has become a little more hectic so I make sure to use that time to relax and prepare for the day ahead. Other than that, I enjoy binge-watching some of my favorite TV series and unwinding that way. I am not a great cook but I am not afraid to whip up something in the kitchen. Very often lately, the lockdown has forced me to unearth some new talents in the kitchen which I am proud of.
