Member of Kwaito band Trompies, Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane’s cause of death was due to drinking and driving, fellow band member Eugene Mthethwa has revealed!

Speaking to Newzroom Afrika, Eugene Mthethwa said that it was a sad day for them as Trompies.

Eugene Mthethwa said that he thought the #RIPMjokes social media posts were a hoax until he called his wife who confirmed his passing.
“I want to say to young people that one of the things that caused the accident is drinking and driving. I am not gonna beat about the bush and I was very angry yesterday when I was talking to them to say look guys we are performing in Meadowlands and we honor people from Meadowlands. We need to give them the best performance we can’t be drunk…” said Eugene Myhethwa.

Eugene Mthethwa continued to say that drinking and driving is a problem and it has taken away Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane.
On Sunday Kalawa Jazmee said that Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane passed away in the early hours of Sunday morning, after their performance.
“it is with great sadness to announce that our Kalawa Jazmee co-director and the fifth member of Trompies, Emmanuel Mojalefa Matsane popularly known as Mjokes passed away in a car accident,” reads the statement released by the stable.

“The accident happened in the early hours of this morning, 23 May 2021 after their performance with Trompies. Further information regarding his memorial service and funeral will be given during the week,” said Kalawa Jazmee.
