In this very sensitive moment of Anele Tembe‘s passing on April 11, after she jumped from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town – her husband to be AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes has been dragged in pursuit of the “truth“, which I feel, for him as a brand he needs to address it publicly, writes Buchule Raba!
AKA’s sit-down interview will air this Saturday on BarLeaderTV’s YouTube page [HERE] at 7PM.

A lot has been alleged, such as he allegedly “introduced” Anele Tembe to a lot of drugs and alcohol, subjected her to abuse, making her feel small, treating her like his lapdog. Well, it can take a long time and a lot of work to create a brand image that people like and trust, but in an instant, all that hard work can be completely undone.
The word “introduced” should be used in understanding because when someone introduces you to something, well, you have every right to reject such introductions.
Should he now not address all these allegations? Won’t he be working towards undoing the hard work he has put in to be where he is today? We need to see the other side of the coin. Anele Tembe‘s side has been told in what we term allegations for now, well, because she is no longer there to tell us what really transpired the day she plugged to death.

On Thursday, MGOSI.co.za ran a story and confirmed with a production powerhouse, BarLeader that they have recorded a sit-down interview with AKA, of which I can’t wait for its release. In this interview, he’s interviewed by ENCA’s seasoned Journalist Thembekile Mrototo, where he’s also seeking to address everybody’s question – “Why did you break the door?” and that can only be revealed when the entire sit down interview sees the public light.

AKA has been involved in a lot of dramatic events, including the breakup with his baby-mama DJ Zinhle, cheating with Bonang Matheba, and recently having to bear the pain of losing Anele Tembe, whom he was going to tie the knot with. We will be very naive to say all these things are new to human nature. Do we now say ‘let‘s forget about his music?‘ Or do we say “Let’s mute him?” On what grounds? He needs to tell us what really transpired during that evening which seemed to be jolly in videos that were shared across social media.

We’ve seen AKA getting in a lot of nasty portions of beef – the Cassper Nyovest one where he was swearing at his mother… I‘m not one of the people that can say I was privy to the couple‘s affairs. But I suss that AKA really loved Anele Tembe. I don’t see him (in his sit-down interview) speaking badly about Anele Tembe. Addressing the allegations against him won’t be painting her badly at all. The people who have no respect for her are the ones that are currently ambushing the media (disguising) as sources.

I commend AKA for his decision to speak about this matter. For someone who just lost a lover, that’s bravery. This very bravery stems from the fact that there is a public demand for answers. This demand affects his business operations because it is from the patrons that buy products that he‘s associated with, such as Cruz Vodka. We are all aware that Mr. Forbes put his work with the vodka brand on pause amid public scrutiny and backlash over leaked videos of him fighting with Anele ‘Nellie’ Tembe.

It’s very unfortunate that Anele had to die the way she did. (we don’t know what God decides about his people) – sadly for AKA, but the man to find a way to move on and clear his name in order to fully function again. Kiernan has a beautiful daughter Kairo Forbes, and she’s not naive like most of you to not pick up what her dad is going through.

Let’s please allow AKA the time to address all that is alleged against him. It’s not a matter of a “want” but a “need” to do so. Anele Tembe does not need to defend herself from anything at all… If AKA says he “loves” her, who can dispute that? The relationship (according to videos) was toxic, like mine and yours… This is not an R-Kelly situation.
