After going mum for a short period, DJ Palture has now released a hit titled Ma-Side featuring the Manyonyoba hitmaker, Mr. Chillax, including another single titled Numero Uno, featuring Sir Choppa who is well established for his classic dance anthem Margarida.
“Ma-Side has been receiving a lot of airplay, including topping charts in radio stations nationally. It’s basically a song about a side-chick that needs to understands that there’s a main chick/woman and she needs to respect the main’s time,” explains DJ Palture.

Known for his work ethic, determination and great sounds of Afro-house infused with his great personality, DJ Palture, born Aviwe Mpondo hails from Phakamisa, in King Williams Town, Eastern Cape.
The DJ says he’s more into working with upcoming artists in order to also help them realise their dreams.
“It’s not easy to get into the industry, so for me helping someone else is something I consider to be very meaningful. If you have struggled to open the doors, there’s no need to watch someone else going through the same struggle while you can and have the resources to help them get where they want to be,” he explains.

Like any upcoming DJ, Palture has played at house parties, street bashes learning the ropes of being a DJ and turning this craft into a business.
This promising to be soon sought after Afro-house DJ has played alongside the internationally renowned DJ Black Coffee, Ganyani, Oskido, Christos and DJ Clock. When it comes to how DJ Black Coffee has mastered the art and business of being a DJ, Palture sees himself grow to such levels as he takes inspiration from these South African musical geniuses.

Taking his career as a Business
He believes that when he played at Corner Pocket Club in East London it’s when he could also map himself out as a DJ, getting all the recognition he deserved. Being taken so serious by patrons of the club made him realise that he needed to focus more on his brand, making it a career and a business force to be reckoned with.
The birth of Elements of Soul
Fast forward 2011, DJ Palture formed a group called “Elements of Soul” a band of three which was himself, Sibusiso Msesiwe and Mandilakhe Tengani. This group was surveyed as one of the musical forces to be reckoned in East London – in a survey conducted by the local newspaper Daily Dispatch. After being signed by a record stable called Beyonce Records, the band released an album titled “Music in Me” in 2011.

Oskido and Loui Vega gave thumbs up!
When Palture was featured on SABC’s Metro FM by the legendary DJ Oskido, he gave them a taste of what Elements of Soul had in store and that is when Oskido and Loui Vega heard that the band existed and they gave it thumbs up after listening to their music.
Traveling Africa
With Elements of Soul, Palture traveled countries like Botswana, Namibia, and Zimbabwe making it certain that their music is getting the ears and eyes it deserves.

First Debut studio album
2013 saw him releasing an album titled “Palturised Nation” which featured many artists locally. One of the popular songs that the album carried was Molo featuring Afro-Jazz musician Dumza Maswana and was on SABC’s uMhlobo Wenene FM charts for a powerful 16-weeks period.
2015: He released a single featuring Vinny Mak titled Let Leave and he was also a resident DJ at a Bisho based local SABC radio station Tru FM’s Tru Hits.

Penetrating the African Continent with Collaborations
Proving that he’s still yet to go places, Palture, in 2017 released a single titled “Samba” featuring a Nigerian artist Manizzee, once again this single topped charts on local radio stations. Samba will be on his second studio album which is due for a release this year.

Numero Uno, inspired by our daily struggles, being worried when one is going to finally make it is currently topping charts nationally as shown by data from Radio Monitor, including Ma-Side.
