When AKA released the statement he was already aware that a story about his/their alleged domestic abuse would come out on Sunday – thus releasing a statement to counter the story before it lands in the public domain.
The South African Press Code dictates that a news subject must be given his/her right of reply when a story is being written about them – the sourcing of a comment in answering to the alleged matter.
The Sunday World reported that there was a violent commotion in their hotel room just before Anele Tembe’s alleged suicide, something which has triggered a police investigation.
AKA (in his statement) stated that he is not a police suspect in Anele Tembe’s death.

“I am fully aware of who the ‘sources’ engaging media are and what their intention is, which is to influence the SAPS inquest – which the investigating officer has stated numerous times to my legal team and to them, that I Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, have not been named to be a suspect, but have been nothing but a cooperating witness,” said AKA.
The publication further reports that the police have taken three statements from AKA. Even last Thursday, the cops took another statement from him after they took the first statement from Mega on the Sunday of Anele Tembe’s death and the Monday following her death.
Sunday World also revealed that accusations of drugs and physical abuse characterized the relationship between AKA and the late Tembe, who died on April 11 after falling off the balcony of a Cape Town hotel.

In one of the disturbing videos, which Sunday World is claiming to have seen, AKA is breaking down a door with a terrified Anele Tembe heard pleading with him to calm down.
The Sunday paper reports that according to Anele Tembe, what started the fight was her calling out AKA for smelling like fish. She also accused AKA of being high on drugs.
According to the article, the incident (breaking fo the door) happened in one of their hair-raising domestic violence incidents that occurred at the rapper’s house in Bryanston, Joburg on March 13, a few weeks before their much-vaunted lobola negotiation in Tembe’s home province, KwaZulu-Natal.
In another video on a separate occasion, Anele Tembe could be seen hurling objects at AKA and vandalizing furniture and AKA’s awards, including his SA Music Awards.
In the video published by the publication, AKA, who dated Bonang Matheba and DJ Zinhle, with whom he has a child, could be heard saying Tembe is under the “influence”.
