The South African Amapiano Music Awards was created by the Amapiano Governing Body, an independent organization made up of industry professionals and stakeholders. The organization is led by an accomplished businessman and founder of Bio Tissue Cosmetics, Vusi Silora.
“The organization felt like Amapiano was not receiving enough acknowledgment. These young kids work so hard and despite Amapiano having existed for nearly a decade now, there hasn’t been an Awards show that fully embraced their talent. We are doing this for the culture and it is our goal as the Governing Body to see these young artists receive the trophies that are due to them,” said SAAPA.
DJ Maphorisa is one of the artists who asked who were the founders of Amapiano Music Awards before it was revealed that it was Vusi Silora.
