The pandemic has affected numerous fields of businesses in the country, as a result, the entertainment industry is one of the fields that have been immensely compromised. The entertainment industry has made statements that the Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture – Nathi Mthethwa (54), has continuously disregarded taking the necessary measures in providing assistance. As a result – singer, record producer and businessman Zakhele Madida (41) popularly known as Zakes Bantwini has indicated he wants to be the “Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture!”

“I want to be Minister of Arts & Culture @PresidencyZA, This pandemic has been extremely challenging for our industry and it’s clear we have NO leadership that cares for the creative economy of this nation. As creatives, we deserve better and I want to change that for the next generation.” Bantwini tweeted.
Zakes Bantwini comes after some of his co-workers called out Mthethwa to be of assistance as the world of entertainment is failing to survive through the pandemic. The record producer believes that the work of creatives will be better understood when led by an individual that has attained success through the entertainment industry.

Tweeps are surprisingly supporting Zakes Bantwini calling on the presidency to appoint him as the Minister of Sports, Arts & Culture. Recently, television host and actress Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi (33), famously known as Pearl Thusi, also called out the minister to support artists, but tweeps reacted differently as compared to Bantwini.
