Looks like the week is starting on a bad note with media personalities exchanging blows. Left, right and centre.
It was reported in October 2021, that the South African TV personality Boity Thulo had been hospitalised. This follows after an altercation she had with Bujy Bikwa the night before.
Bujy who is a Zimbabwean-born South African radio host, television presenter and producer left Boity with injuries.
According to witnesses, Boity and Bujy were at the Courtyard Hotel in Midrand on the evening of September 30, 2021. When an argument broke out between the two.
Witnesses revealed that Boity and Bujy were having drinks and had been arguing about sangoma’s and ancestors.
It reportedly got to a point where Bujy became agitated and wanted to see if Boity’s ancestor could protect her and decided to attack her by throwing a bottle at her.
Things then turned pretty sour quickly and Bikwa allegedly threw a bottle of alcohol across Thulo’s face. That left the renowned media personality with a cut on her face and as a result, left her hospitalised.
Soon after, Boity got the police involved and Bujy was arrested and charged. To date, we are yet to hear about their court settlement.
Following the altercation that left Thulo hospitalised with several stitches. The television personality reported the incident to Midrand police. Bikwa was then arrested and charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The famous podcaster spent the entire weekend behind bars as he was initially denied bail. During his bail hearing which happened at Midrand Magistrates court, Bujy was released on R 2 000 bail.
Other conditions for his bail included keeping his distance from Boity and not making contact with any of the witnesses who were present when the assault occurred.
During the settlement of the assault case, Boity Thulo reportedly demanded a total of R 1.2 million from the radio host. She explained, through her lawyers, that the R 1 million was for the assault charge she had laid against him while the remaining R 200,000 was for the medical expenses she had incurred following her hospitalisation after the incident.

Bujy Bikwa’s GBV Campaign Causes Commotion
A few weeks after his widely publicised altercation with Boity which some categorised as gender-based violence. Bujy announced that he would be taking part in a campaign aimed at ending GBV.
The particular campaign would be a 5 KM walk by the Khuzekani Madoda organisation. With the aim of promoting both the organisation’s new single as well as advocating an end to GBV.
As soon as his poster landed on Twitter, tweeps quickly jumped on the opportunity to ridicule the former radio personality. For reportedly preaching water whilst drinking wine.
