Sjava, real name Jabulani Hadebe is gatvol and wants to leave Ambitiouz Entertainment. Apparently, he was promised to be cleared after his Durban one-man show but that didn’t happen!t’s been a long time rumor that award-winning musician
The Sowetan reports that according to an industry insider and close friend, Sjava has been “extremely unhappy” at Ambitiouz Entertainment (AE) and is current;y exploring ways to cut ties with the label that made him a superstar.
According to the publication, Sjava is allegedly considering joining fellow musicians such as Amanda Black, Fifi Cooper, A-Reece, and Emtee who exited the label under “nasty circumstances.”
Speaking to the publication, record label boss Kgosi Mahumapelo said that the recording, publishing, and marketing deals that Sjava signed with Ambitiouz Entertainment still stood and will continue to be active for a few years to come.
“An artist or label cannot opt to renew a contract that is still active and will be for a few years to come. All three contracts are active and Ambitiouz have not requested the artist to renew any,” Kgosi Mahumapelo told the paper.
The paper alleges that top of the list of the reasons Sjava is unhappy at Ambitiouz Entertainment is over not receiving a cent from his feature on the Black Panther soundtrack in 2018.
“Ambitiouz have not received any form of payment from the Black Panther project to date and efforts have been made to claim revenues from the project, including hiring international royalty specialists to assist in this regard,” Kgosi Mahumapelo told the publication.
Unlike an Ambitiouz artist, Sjava has publicly shown support for ex-artist Emtee when he released his latest song Johustleburg recently.
“Emtee Records presents Emtee The Hustla #Johustleburg sanibonani endlini (greetings at home), please go get this song Johustleburg and thank you to everyone who has been supporting the Hustla. Emtee siyabonga ngomculo omnandi (thanks for good music,” wrote Sjava on his official Instagram page last Friday.
According to Sowetan’s understanding, Kgosi Mahumapelo has had several disagreements with Sjava. One of them is over Sjava apparently taking side gigs in secret and independently making money – which was bot part of their signed management deal.
“There are agreements in place and Sjava is required to comply with the agreement, including his management agreement,” Kgosi Mahumapelo responded to the allegations.
