Sizwe Alakine formerly known as Reason was gifted the new Polo GTI for his birthday. In his post, Sizwe gives a shout out to Warner Music Africa and Kumbi M on cars for the birthday gift.
Warner Music Africa also posted on Instagram a photo of Reason in front of the car with the caption “Ahead of @reasonhd_’s album listening session this evening, @kumbiraim has handed him the keys to experience the #Vrrpah and drive the all-new Polo GTI… What a car”.
Sizwe held a listening party for his new album hosted by DJ Sabby. In an Instagram story post posted by DJ Sabby, it seems like the album is an Amapiano album.
For 10 years Sizwe was a hip-hop rapper, known as Reason. In July 2021, after years of being in the hip-hop industry, the rapper debuted as an Amapiano artist. Sizwe Alakine signed a deal with Warner Music Africa and mentioned in article that he needed a company that was going to do more for him than he could do for himself.
Fans and listeners were shocked about the transition of Sizwe going from being a hip-hop artist to an amapiano artist. It is no surprise that many want to join the amapiano genre as the genre has been truly amazing with its different sounds and vibe.
It has taken South Africa to a new level when it comes to music and talent. The genre and its artists are also appreciated all over the world.
When Sizwe Alakine broke the news of signing with Warner Music Africa, the artist spoke to Music in Africa and said, “After all that I’ve done independently, I need to work with a company that could do more than I could do for myself”.
The creative lead of Warner Music Africa basically called Sizwe Alakin a legend and said, “his ability to effortlessly transition between genres is what the genetic fibre of legends are made of, and we are honoured to be a part of his history”
Sizwe collaborated with several amapiano artists after his “Khanda Shisa” debut featuring DJ Maphorisa. He collaborated with amapiano artists like Kamo Mphela, Mr. JazziQ, Mellow & Sleazy, and DJ Stokie.
