“I have received an email from Universal that seems, to me, more amicable than the previous ones. I will be consulting my lawyers about it. Please, I don’t want to do any interviews about this situation. Except to say I feel like I can breathe for the first time in months,” says Simphiwe Dana.
Simphiwe Dana further says that standing up for yourself takes a lot of courage and that comes with a lot of pain.
“Standing up for yourself takes a lot of courage. And you will go through a lot of pain while doing it. Especially knowing that it may not work out. When it does work out it makes up for everything,” says Simphiwe Dana.

On Monday a frustrated Simphiwe Dana took to social media accusing Universal Music of wanting her “blood” after she asked them to do right by her contract or let her go.
“Universal Music wants my blood. Only because I asked them to do right by my contract or let me go. They got scared (about) how much money they spent on my album. They didn’t think how much money I spent myself. I’m am so pissed that they think so little of me. It’s on,” said Simphiwe Dana.
Simphiwe Dana said that record labels have been exploiting artists for so long, giving Universal Music the middle finger.

“Record labels have been exploiting artists for so long. Fuck you @UMG. We will meet in court. I am enough. Bring your best lawyers. I’m only bringing the truth. You want my blood?” questioned Simphiwe Dana.
We hope the email she received from Universal Music Group will be the end of the most anticipated legal battle.
