After his Idols SA Mahlathini flop, Samthing Soweto real name Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba has taken to social media to make a huge joke about his disappointing performance at the Idols SA finale.
Samthing Soweto used a meme with the caption, “Me watching Idols SA,” and it was all followed by laughter from fans. They also acknowledged his flop, telling him that these things do happen.

The video meme of a child seemingly watching himself from a screen with disbelief that it’s him goes like this, “Is that me? No! That’s me? No that’s not me. It is me. I swear to God that’s me…”
On Sunday Samthing Soweto took to stage his biggest hits, Amantombazane and Akulaleki, but his performance left many South Africans unimpressed. The musician has since apologised for the poor performance.

“…I just performed on Idols not so long ago. I just checked out the response on Twitter. I am sorry because I see I have ruined some people’s day and some people switched off their TV’s…I don’t have an excuse but hopefully, I will have an opportunity to redeem myself again… I just want you guys to know how I felt.
Samthing Soweto said that he was shocked by some of the comments he saw on social media.
The muso also added that this was not his first poor performance on Idols SA. In 2017 he sang ‘Akanamali’ at the live show and after watching videos he explained that he was also unhappy with his performance.

“On Idols, things are moving fast, there are dancers and there are so many distractions, you kind of feel like a cow and a car is about to crash into you,” he explained.
He ended off the video by pleading for some leniency from fans because he is ‘human too’.
Samthing Soweto admitted that his Idols SA performances are not always the best, referring to his 2017 performance that was also a flop.
