Speaking to last year’s winner of R120 000, DJ Bravo Dee, real name Tshediso Mofokeng he says that the competition was excellent but it needs more exposure and support from local media houses in order for the participants to get more exposure.
“With the money that I won I bought myself a new sound system, used some for my family, including traveling around at different venues to promote my career,” says DJ Bravo Dee.
To this year’s hopefuls, he says Red Square DJ KnockOut challenge is a big deal and they should practice their craft as much as they can in order to stand great chances of impressing the judges.
This year’s line-up for the RedSquare DJ KnockOut Challenge was mainly determined by DJ KnockOut’s over fifteen thousand followers on its social media platform, Facebook. Topping the list of artists demanded by the audience was the growing bigger and bigger artist and performer Nasty C.
Cassper Nyovest was voted second but had to pull out of the KnockOut Challenge because of pre-arranged personal engagement a day before the DJ Knockout final.
A-Reece, Kabza de Small, A.K.A, and Prince Kay-Bee were among other acts voted for to be part of the annual major lifestyle event that is hosted by the river-side. Still to be announced were local artists from the Vaal, Y-FM DJ’s and few more top surprise acts.
