It has been confirmed that the President of South African Cyril Ramaphosa has tested positive for Covid19! The results were confirmed on Sunday the 12th December 2021. It is said that he began having symptoms after former deputy president FW de Klerk’s memorial.

When visiting the four West African countries. President Cyril Ramaphosa and the South African deputations were tested for Covid-19 in all four of the countries. Ramaphosa and the South African deputations first tested negative before returning home on the 8th December 2021. He tested negative once again before coming to Johannesburg on the 8th December.
The fully vaccinated President is in self isolation, in Cape Town and is being taken care of by the South African National Defence Force in the South African Military Health Service department.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has said “my own infection serves as a caution to all people in the country to be vaccinated and remain vigilant against exposure.” He has advised that people who have been in contact with him this past Sunday to get tested, or self-isolate.
All his responsibilities are currently being handed over to Deputy President David Mabuza. We wish President Cyril Ramaphosa a speedily recovery and nothing but good health. As a country we should make sure that we continue to take Covid19 very seriously. By maintaining social distancing. Wearing a mask when in close proximity with people. Finally washing and sanitizing our hands and surfaces frequently.
