Investigating officers in the Senzo Meyiwa “cold case” are requesting cellphone records of singer Kelly Khumalo, indicating her alleged communication with the accused!

“Cellphone records of Ms. Kelly Khumalo indicating her communication with the accused must be obtained, as previously indicated.”
The document “leaked” to the media containing these details also states that there’s a lender who advanced money to Kelly Khumalo, ostensibly to pay hitmen.

“It was previously mentioned that there was a lender who advanced money to Ms. KELLY KHUMALO, ostensibly to pay hitmen and that this lender was pestering her for the repayment of the loan. The statement of such a lender must be obtained,” reads the document from the South African Police Service (SAPS) Cold Case Division.
According to various reports, the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Sipho Ngwenya confirmed that the document was released to the media accidentally and was not supposed to be in the public domain.
The suspects in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case are Bongani Sandiso Ntanzi, Muzikawulahlelwa S’tembu Sibiya, Mthobisi Prince Mncube, Mthokosizeni Ziphozonke Maphisa, and Sifikuhle Nkani Ntuli.

Senzo Meyiwa was shot in Vosloorus, East of Joburg, on the 26th of October 2014 in the presence of Kelly Khumalo, her sister Zandi, her mother Ntombi, Chicco Twala’s son Longwe Twala (who was Zandi’s boyfriend then), as well as his friends Mthokozisi Twala, and Tumelo Madlala.
The suspects are facing a charge of murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravated circumstances, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
It is also reported that Prosecutor George Baloyi stated that a scuffle ensued between Senzo Meyiwa and a dreadlocked man, who was apparently carrying the firearm, including allegations that the men robbed Kelly Khumalo of her cellphone on the day of Senzo’s death.

It is reported that a shot went off and hit Zandi Khumalo on the leg, including a second shot hitting Senzo Meyiwa on the chest.
