A month after the untimely death of AKA, the police have given an update on the murder investigations that are still under way.
By the looks of things the family and friends of the celebrated hip-hop sensation, AKA, could be close to knowing the killers or those who plotted to murder the Hip Hop star.
This is after the police have come with another update regarding the ongoing investigations.
POLICE SHARE NEW INFORMATION ABOUT AKA’S MURDER CASE
KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi according to reports has given an update on pending murder investigations, including one of AKA.
In a media briefing, the police confirmed progress in various murder cases in the province, including that of the rapper Kiernan Forbes.
In acknowledgement to the available CCTV footage, the commissioner revealed they have been connecting the dots. This is one of the several updates on AKA’s murder case by the police.
KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi says investigation into the murder of rapper Kiernan Forbes, known as AKA are yielding positive results. AKA was shot dead outside a popular night spot on Durban’s Florida Road a month ago.
“We want to encourage communities to come on board and share information. The investigation of Mr Forbes who was murdered last month; majority of the work we did thus far it is because of the help from the community. The different cameras in that vicinity are not installed by the state, but it is those cameras that are helping us to analyse and identify some of those people who might have been involved and it helps us to make linkages,” he says.
A couple of weeks ago, Police Minister, Bheki Cele also made us aware that the police were collecting cellphone data for investigations.
AKA and his former manager Tibello ‘Tibz’ Mostoane were shot dead outside a restaurant on Durban’s Florida Road.
The musician’s death has since implicated several people which has made it difficult to find out who killed him. However, in the wake of his death, the police maintain that his death was a targeted killing.
Also, with the police closing in on the case, no arrest has been made yet.
