Looking back at the year that it was, we can’t really say everyone had an amazing year. With that said, we’ve compiled a list of our top ten celebs that had an amazing 2019. Here are our AmazingTwenty19 in no particular order.
- Dreaming something, owning that dream and knowing that one day it’ll come to its manifestation. It’s Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi who stood out from the rest in August 2019 and went ahead to represent South Africa at Miss Universe to being crowned Miss Universe 2019. – Celebs!
- Money Tree CEO Cassper Nyovest knows the highs and lows of modeling an entire show from the beginning to the end. The Fill-Up concept has been running successfully for five years now. In 2019 it was his homecoming – he took the Fill-Up to his hometown, North West at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium. Alongside him when it comes to supporting his initiative it was Samsung, Ciroc, SABC, Castle Lite and the Rustenburg Local Municipality, including the fans that came in their numbers to Fill-Up Royal Bafokeng. Cassper also pleaded with locals to apply for various internships to be part of last year’s leg of Fill-Up, and gain work experience. – Celebs!
- The success of Amapiano also left South Africa either dancing or in stitches. Scorpion Kings – DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small have been riding on a huge success of waves when it comes to the Amapiano genre, which is so popular and fashionable – The two have been dominating Apple music with their album, including their latest hit Phoyisa sitting on number 2 (SA) on Apple music.
- Trevor Noah has been making waves abroad. The Daily Show host was nominated for an entire Grammy Award, including making history as the first African comedian to perform at a sold-out show at the Madison Square Garden in New York City. Trevor also spoiled himself with a luxurious apartment in Los Angeles and according to Business Tech, it is worth R285 million. He’s also in the top 5 highest-paid comedians in the entire universe.
- Sho Madjozi had a super-amazing 2019 when it comes to her music career – she won a BET award for Best New International Act, including scooping two awards at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) for Newcomer of the Year and Female Artist of the Year. As if that was not enough, with her single titled John Cena and her dreams of meeting John Cena finally materialized. While being interviewed and performing on the Kelly Clarkson show, she was jumping and screaming when she saw John Cena dancing just behind her shoulder.
- How can we forget former Isibaya actress Nomzamo Mbatha who is living her dream in the US, after she left Isibaya to join the stellar cast of Coming 2 America? Well done to Nomzamo Mbatha and MGOSI.co.za wishes all the lady luck you deserve in the world.
- Robert Marawa started his Sports Channel Marawa TV after he was booted by SuperSport TV since he started he embarked on the journey to start his own channel and he has so far more than 40 000 subscribers. He has managed to invite the likes of Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo, George Lebese, and former rugby player Kennedy Tsimba.
- Spring Boks captain Siya Kolisi had an interesting year as he led the Spring Boks to the Rugby World Cup in Japan and claiming the final in the of the Rugby World Cup. Siya Kolisi was also joined by his father to witness his victory.
- We must also congratulate Somizi and Mohale on their wedding, alluding to the fact that our country is and has been welcoming to same-sex marriage. The two have suffered a lot of negative from fellow local folks, claiming that Mohale Motaung was in the marriage to dig gold from Somizi. Somizi who is the most loved Idols SA loved judge and has been dating his now-husband since 2017.
- DJ Zinhle had a full blast 2019 after final opening her online store Jiyane Atelier. In 2018, DJ Zinhle launched Jiyane Atelier inspired by her vast travel inspirations, fashion and, love for furniture. Her song Umlilo also was amazing as it made entire South Africa dance non-stop, topping to the Amapiano which closed the year on a successful note.
