Van Lathan asks MacG if he thinks that he owes Ari an apology because he made her feel so uncomfortable. MacG responded by saying in the beginning he didn’t see anything wrong about what he said. But after watching a few podcasts and the Breakfast Club addressing his interview with her, he realized his fault.
MacG says from his perspective, he thought because he was quoting her lyrics then it shouldn’t have been off limits. He elaborates that through this experience he has learnt that the way you phrase a question if more important than the question itself.

MacG says he had no clue who Ari Lennox was other than the fact that she’s worked with Nasty C. He had to do his research about her within an hour of getting a call from her record label to do an interview. He says within the hour he found a song by her called Pop. This song is where he quoted the lyrics when asking her the question.
During his explanation he said she asked for some parts to be removed and MacG removed them. Therefore her tweets saying he didn’t remove the parts she asked to be removed was disingenuous. He says before even uploading the podcast he sent her and the team the episode and it was approved.
