Tony Forbes says, an investigation is still ongoing on the passing of his son Kiernan AKA Forbes, although it moves slowly.
During an interview with TshisaLive, the late star’s father celebrated Kiernan’s recent win, which is Mass Country album reaching Platinum status and then opened up and provided an update on his son’s murder investigation.
“I feel emotional, proud and also grateful that we had him. Though he died at 35, when he left this life he had made a mark on the world,” he said.
“It’s not about the volume of sales. For me it’s that people want to hear his music, to remember him and feel inspired by him.”
Tony claims that despite the delayed pace of the probe, the family is patient.
“There are days where one hopes to hear the news that something happened. But we still want to give the process space. We are in touch with the investigators and they keep us abreast, it does seem slow, but it’s only been six months.”
AKA passed away on February 10 in Durban, Florida Road, alongside his friend, famous chef Tebello ’Tibz’ Motsoane. The longtime friends were shot and killed as they hugged outside Wish restaurant, which has since been permanently closed.
His fans have spoken out about who they thought was responsible for the cold-blooded murder following the release of CCTV footage that captured the rapper’s death in the seconds before it happened. The Forbes family has since released a statement urging The Megacy to stand down and let the law take its course.
