“He is in need of a fresh opportunity after many years of success in the South African Premier League. We look forward to supporting him and helping get his confidence back,” said Alan Koch.
Alan Koch said that when George Lebese is flowing, the team is flowing.
“He is going to be an integral part of our new-look team and he has the ability to unlock the opposition’s defense through his vision and passing ability,” said Alan Koch.
In an interview with Robert Marawa last month, George Lebese said moving to Mamelodi Sundowns was an “oops”.

“When you join a team it’s either things go good or bad. So I joined a team that was doing well… a lot of influence from home because they’re supporters of the team. It didn’t work out for me because when I got there obviously they have a lot of quality players and it’s not a patient team, and I am coming from a team where in the past few months I was not playing as regularly as I should…
“Getting there I still needed time, momentum to get used to the different philosophy that I was getting into… I played and played and they took me off to give me time to get used to their style of playing,” says George Lebese.
“Lebese also returned from a short loan stint at our Tshwane rivals SuperSport United, but he, too, struggled for minutes on the field during his spell with the Brazilians,” – Statement by Mamelodi Sundowns.
