Former Idols SA contestant Mthokozisi Ndaba has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. This follows his term in the singing competition in 2017 suggesting that his latest scandal is his worst yet.

The now-married, father-of-two was arrested in Durban this week on allegations of raping a young woman. In season 13 Idols SA finalist had been released on bail after the alleged incident took place on Sunday, August 7.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the 24-year-old unidentified woman reported her version of what exactly transpired.
She said: “I met Mthokozisi for the first time at a carwash on Saturday. I was with my friends, and he was driving a kombi. From there we partied all night until Sunday morning. Mthokozisi then offered to drop everyone at home”.She continued: “He said he would drop me off last because he wanted to talk to me. I agreed. We then drove to a park where we voluntarily kissed. But then I became uncomfortable and asked him to stop…but he didn’t”.
Things then took a quick turn for the worse, the woman added.

“I don’t know when he got undressed. Everything happened so fast. He became violent and started undressing me. I kept asking him to stop, but he didn’t. He raped me and was proud about it”.
The lady then claimed that after Mthokozisi dropped her off at home, she went to the Kwa-Mashu police station to open a charge of rape. She also visited her nearest clinic for an examination.
She added: “I don’t know what is going to happen next, but I’m scared…I feel unsafe…Now I want justice”.
After his arrest, Mthokozisi appeared in the Ntuzuma Magistrates court and was released on R1500 bail. When approached for comment from the publication, he responded: “I am not ready to talk about it yet”.
Mthokozisi Ndaba’s spate of scandals started in 2017 following his stint on Idols SA. Having been part of the announcement as runner-up to winner Paxton Fielies. The Durban singer invited controversy after storming off stage.
He also refused to congratulate Paxton and declined media interviews. According to the show’s organisers, Mthokozisi was “receiving assistance to deal with emotions involved in this situation”.

A week later, the then contestant had been arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman he met at a party in Braamfontein.
Neo Tsele claims the singer hit her continuously after they got into an argument. “He only stopped when he saw his hands were full of blood,” she told the Sunday Times.
The charges were later provisionally withdrawn.
