From all the way in Mandalay, Cape Town – presenter and producer Sphaka has proven himself over and over again in the entertainment industry. We got introduced to this 27-year-old when he joined the successful YouTube show, Microwave Boys!

Sphaka said, “I joined Microwave Boys because something in that concept, I knew it would be a success however, a year into the show I branched out and start my own show because I really didn’t say much on the show and if I wanted to achieve my television dreams, people had to see another side of me and show off my talent.”

In a space of 5 years, Sphaka, real name Sphaka Ngonyama has had a radio show, 2 online shows, and 2 TV shows. He joined V-Entertainment as a field presenter and at the same time was the scriptwriter for Somizi and Nomuzi Mabena, produced the inserts, produced and did voice-overs for the show, and to top it all off, he also floor managed the show all at the same time. “V-Entertainment was a dream come true but when we stopped shooting, I knew that I had a greater purpose.”

The Lockdown was also a blessing in disguise for Sphaka. He was approached the do his first live show on Mzansi Wethu called Mzansi Live: The Lockdown with Pearl Modiadie and SK Khoza. “That was the scariest thing I have done but I learned a lot from the show and from my co-presenters”
In 2021, he said he wants to produce more shows online and on TV. “I had promised people a YouTube channel and it’s still on the way. I have shot so much content but more needs to be done.” He says he will be returning on TV soon and all we can do is wait and see what’s to come from this talent.
