e.tv has confirmed that positive cases of Covid-19 have been recorded on two of its weekday soapies Rhythm City and Scandal!. Both sets of the local production premises have been shut down and undertaking the necessary testing for exposed cast and crew members!

“The sets have undergone deep cleaning to further minimize the risk of contamination, in accordance with COVID-19 protocols. Affected individuals are currently undergoing self-isolation until the end of the stipulated 14-day period,” reads a statement released by e.tv.
On Thursday e.tv said that in respecting the privacy of their talent’s medical and health matters, they will not be issuing the names of any individuals who tested positive for COVID-19.

“In respecting the privacy of our talent’s medical and health matters, we will not be issuing the names of any individuals,” reads the statement.
e.tv, Quizzical Pictures and Ochre Media said that they will continue to monitor the health of affected employees. – COVID-19.
“Filming will resume when it is appropriate to do so,” concluded the channel.

Rhythm City and Scandal! fans can continue enjoying the shows every weekday evening at 7PM and 7.30PM, respectively.
Friday Word of Mouth Pictures also announced that SABC2’s popular soapie Muvhango will stop production until further notice. This was followed the possibility of one of their employees being exposed to someone with COVID-19.
In a statement released by Kwathole Conexion on behalf of Word of Mouth Pictures, Muvhango’s series producer, Herbert Hadebe says that the measure was taken to reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19 on and offset.
