Dr. Sipho Sithole, who has acquired a stake in WatchaTV, a streaming platform that enables artists and content creators to generate income from their live streams, store it and promote for reselling said “Artists will not have to pay anything to have their content or shows streamed as the platform is offered for free to the creatives. More exciting is the ability for viewers to access a live stream using their airtime, over and above other payment methods.”

Sharing this exciting news, Dr. Sipho Sithole said, “any initiative that puts more money into the pockets of creatives is one that I would support and be part of. The WatchaTV philosophy sounded very philanthropic to me and yes, I am glad to be in partnership with people who share the same values as me”.

A star-studded jazz artist line-up will kick start the WatchaTV Virtual State at its inaugural Live & Direct Concert on 30 April starting from 19h00 till 23h00, featuring 2 Standard Bank Artists of the Year, Bokani Dyer, Nduduzo Makhathini (recently released by Blue Note), South African Belgian-based jazz sensation, Tutu Puoane, as well the amazing trumpeter and vocalist, Mandisi Dyantyis, who has cracked the code in fusing Xhosa lingua into jazz.
