Donald: Hello Sir, what’s the story about?
MGOSI.co.za: Thank you. Afro-tech producer Mezzo who produced the song Lala Dance in 2016 is accusing you, and especially Mvzzle of chopping his song and used his chords, tune, and instruments for Black Love. Are you aware of this?
Donald: blue-ticked.
MGOSI.co.za: Do you have any idea when can we expect a reply from your side?
Donald: blue-ticked.

“Brother, how are you? Hope you well. It’s Mezzo here. Well, Mvzzle used my chords to the instrument that he did for you Black Love like it’s the same,” said Mezzo via a WhatsApp text to Donald.
Mezzo said that he was alerted when he saw Black Love climbing radio charts and he wanted to give it an ear.
“I saw on the radio charts that Donald is doing well with his new song Black Love so I wanted to listen to the song since I’m one of his supporters. I won’t lie I love his voice but when I pressed play it was my song. I mean the chords are mine, I’ve dropped Lala Dance in 2016 and it was one of the biggest songs in the streets.

“So Mvzzle (DJ Zinhle’s Umlilo producer) chopped it and then suddenly he wakes up with the same instrument, played the very same chords, even the tune,” claims Mezzo.
Mezzo said that he tried to reach out to Mvzzle via Twitter but he was met with silence from the popular Umlilo producer.
Mezzo said that he was not fighting with both the alleged thieves but wanted to alert them that they must not take advantage of people’s work.

“I wanted to alert them that they must not take advantage of people’s work since they are on for now and some us we don’t wanna appear as if we seeking attention with their name but we want our work to be respected as much as we look up to people like Donald. As for the producer (Mvzzle) not to do what he did,” said Mezzo.
Mezzo told MGOSI.co.za he will seek advice from his publisher about the matter and if he needs to take the legal route he will certainly do so.
MGOSI.co.za has seen social media posts directed to both Mvzzle and Donald but they’ve never entertained the allegations.
