Zola Hashatsi was arrested by police in Soweto for an alleged drunk driving, reports Sunday Sun!oja Love presenter and actor
The paper reports that the former Rhythm City actor was caught at a roadblock in Dobsonville, on Elias Motsoaledi and Luthuli Road last Saturday.
Zola Hashatsi was thrown into the holding cells at Dobsonville cop shop.
According to the paper, Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed Zola Hashatsi was arrested for driving under the influence of firewater.
“Yes, the suspect was arrested for drinking and driving,” said Captain Makhubele.
But the 31-year-old, who shot to fame while hosting kids show Craz-e on e.tv, denied spending the night in a smelly holding cell and refused to substantiate.
“No, I didn’t. Wow, where did you get your information from? I really don’t want to comment,” said Zola Hashatsi as quoted by the paper.
But the paper further reports that according to a police statement Zola Hashatsi was asked at the roadblock if he was drunk and he admitted.
“It is alleged by complainant (name withheld) that on 20/03/07 about 8:80pm, she stopped (sic) a black male known to be Zola Hashatsi.
“The complainant suspected Mr. Hashatsi was driving under the influence of alcohol. When she asked him if he was drunk, he admitted to being drunk. The complainant breathelized (sic) Mr. Hashatsi and the reading was 0.63, which was over the limit. The suspect (Zola Hashatsi) was arrested and detained at the Dobsonville SAPS.”
Last week Power FM radio host Pabi Moloi was also caught by police driving under the influence of alcohol and she has since apologized.
