King Goodwill Zwelithini ka Bhekuzulu has died at the age of 73. Former Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi made the announcement on Friday morning!

“Deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Isilo Samabandla, His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu,” President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“It is with the utmost grief that I inform the nation of the passing of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelithini ka Bhekuzulu, King of the Zulu Nation,” reads a statement by Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

“Tragically, while still in the hospital, His Majesty’s health took a turn for the worse and he subsequently passed away in the early hours of this morning. On behalf of the Royal Family, we thank the nation for your continued prayers and support in this most difficult time. May His Majesty our King rest in peace,” Mangosuthu Buthelezi said.
According to reports, King Goodwill Zwelithini has been in the hospital for more than a month. This after his glucose levels shot up.

“Sakhothama Isilo Samabandla Onke. We mourning the untimely death of King Goodwill Zwelithini at the age of 73. He was the longest-serving monarch since the establishment of the Zulu monarchy in 1816,” said South Africa’s Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula.
“This is a sad day for the Zulu nation and people around the world. Farewell to our King Goodwill Zwelithini,” said singer Nandi Madida.
