South African rapper, record producer, and entrepreneur Refiloe Maele Phoolo (30) famously known as Cassper Nyovest took to Twitter to announce that the South African hip-hop genre is coping without him in the picture. The rapper stated that he has concluded his time as a hip-hop artist and that the focus will be on Amapiano music!

The record producer affirms that South African hip hop entails music politics that he has solemnly shifted away from as an artist. Nyovest taking a break from the hip hop industry has resulted in the rapper associating himself with Amapiano music, his aim is to simply “have fun with music”, as he stated on his Twitter post.
Tweeps commented on his tweet and questioned whether Cassper Nyovest is really done with rap music. “Are you done with rap? Like done done”, a tweep questioned the rapper. This question was followed by the rapper’s tweet, explaining that he is not entirely done with the rap game.

The rapper replied: “Ofcos not. I’m just done with politics, need a break to have fun with music. Just vibe out. SA Hip Hop seems to be doing amazing without me doe. All over the charts.”
Caspper Nyovest’s idea of “having fun with music” is leading him in the right direction, as he released an Amapiano album, and South Africans are praising him for the album. The album is making waves in the country, and his Amapiano song, Siyathanda featuring Abidoza and Boohle is a hit sensation. The Siyanthandana hits video is at almost 3 million views since its debut on YouTube. It is safe to say, the Amapiano genre is made for him, just as much as hip hop.
