South African musicians Sho Madjozi and Busiswa Gqulu have made it to the list of CNN Africa’s Big Stars 2019. These are African voices and change-makers.
And these superstars are taking the Africa continent and representing it well to the global community, which makes great sense for them to be named CCN Africa’s Big Stars.

Sho Madjozi won the 2019 BET New International Act. In her speech welcoming and accepting the award, she said that “My story is a testament that you can come from any village, in any forgotten part of the world, and still be a superstar.” Sho also went viral with the release of her hit song John Cena which took the global community by storm.

Busiswa Gqulu is known for her energetic dance moves, party sound and cool vibes that are complemented by her friendliness. She became more popular after featuring DJ Zinhle’s hit song, My Name Is after being discovered by Kalawa Jazmee’s CEO Oskido.

The 30-year-old Busiswa Gqulu has recently launched her most anticipated record label, Majesty Music.
They were named with other African voices and other change-makers such as Nigeria’s Burna Boy who has been nominated for the Best World Music Grammy.
