ON Thursday the legendary DJ Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo shared a very moving video on Instagram telling how a couple met on his set when he was playing the hit Superman and how a woman who was stuck during a volcano in St Martins was kept going by his song Turn Me On.
He says some people met on the dance floor on his sets and he met them, they’re a couple that has a baby.
“They were like we met when you were playing Superman and now we together for like four or five years.
“But there’s one, in particular, she was in St Martins when there was a volcano and she was stuck there. The only place she could sit and have shelter was her car. She says by chance Turn Me On I don’t know if as a single was the only song she could listen to and that’s what she listened to in the car,” shares Black Coffee.
He says that she wrote him a letter saying that this song (Turn Me On) really kept her going.
“That’s why when I make music I want meaning. I want to talk to someone,” he says.
