On Friday AKA, real name Kiernan Forbes announced that FREE is the number one record on South African radio, and that has caused mixed reactions, with fans claiming that the song is whack and alleging that AKA might be paying payola to keep the song afloat!

“FREE the #1 record on SA radio… eternally grateful to the Megacy and all stations. Only real music lasts, all that other sh!t is here today, gone tomorrow,” wrote AKA.
The Cape-Town-born, rapper, songwriter, record producer, singer, and businessman features DJ Tira and Riky Rick on the song.
FREE has been topping the local radio charts for 14 weeks and it’s on position number one, with 166 plays – as indicated by airplay from Friday 17th – Thursday 23 of January 2020.

FREE is followed by Master KG featuring Nomcebo’s Jerusalem, on number three it’s Qwabe Twinz featuring DJ Tira’s Hamba, chilling on number four is Sithelo featuring Skyewanda’s Forever, followed by DJ Oskido’s Ndonqena featuring Toshi, out of South Africa is Justine Bieber’s Yummy on number six, resting on number seven for 15 weeks is MFR Souls featuring Kabza de Small’s Love You Tonight.
Samthing Soweto is on number eight with Akulaleki, Umona by TNS featuring Mpumi is sitting on number nine for 20 weeks and on number 10 it’s Maroon 5’s Memories.
