South African actor Siyabonga Radebe (also know in comedy circles as Siya B) has been allegedly arrested in Durban for drunk and driving at the weekend.
When MGOSI.co.za contacted the director and standup comedian he flatly rejected the video, allegations and that he was in his hometown, Ntuzuma, near KwaMashu in KwaZulu Natal.
However, KwaZulu Natal police spokesperson confirmed the arrest of the actor and says that the two-vehicle were involved in a collision in Ntuzuma on Saturday.
Brigadier Jay Naicker says that a case of reckless and negligent driving is being investigated by Ntuzuma cop-shop.
“Ayikho leyo nto. Angikho nokubakhona mina (there’s nothing like that I am not even around),” says Siyabonga Radebe.
In the video, a wrecked vehicle with a Gauteng Province registration plate can be seen. Also South African Police Service members can be seen arresting Siyabonga Radebe.
Apparently the Siyabonga Radebe was apprehended on Saturday for causing a horrific vehicle accident under the influence of alcohol.
Details of who Siyabonga Radebe collided with are still sketchy at the moment.
According to reports earlier this year, Siyabonga Radebe landed in hot water for violating a protection order Lerato Mvelase has against him.
Having kept mum on what led to the end of his relationship with Lerato Mvelase in 2017, Siyabonga Radebe has finally put his feelings into words and expressed his regret over mistreating Lerato and hurting her.
According to reports the actor took to his Instagram and explained that he had failed to be the best boyfriend and apologised for having disappointed not only Lerato, but also her family and his own.
“I have not been the best boyfriend or the best father. I have disappointed Lerato’s family and my own. I wish there was a way to go back into time and make different choices but what is done is done. There is no undoing it.
“There is no going back. All I can do now is apologise and move forward, and hopefully learn to use these challenging times as an example and lesson in the future, and call myself out. Because God knows I went the wrong way for far too long this time around,” he began his lengthy post according to reports.
NOTE: This is a developing story and more details will follow soon.
